Frequently Asked Questions

  • Q - What are your hourly rates? A - Given that the tasks we perform are so varied and require different equipment and different travel times, it is very hard to give an hourly rate that covers all aspects of our service, however we always try to not only match a comparative quote, but beat it where possible.

  • Q - Won't it be cheaper for me to simply hire equipment and do the work myself?  A - In many cases it may seem cheaper but people forget additional costs such as delivery, collection, return times and cost associated with that, not to mention running costs such as fuel. There are also a much bigger risks involved should something with the machine or equipment go wrong. With that being said we definitely encourage clients to shop around for the best solution however in most cases we can do the job for less than what it would cost you to hire the equipment.

  • Q - Do you do gardening and mowing of residential properties? A - In most cases no unless it is a large lawn or vacant block needing slashing, firebreaks or site works, since our focus is on larger scale properties, however if you have a larger than average lawn or yard we can certainly assist.  Keep in mind that although we don't usually do residential mowing we can certainly help with landscaping for your residential property where the task at hand is too big to do by hand.

  • Q - How big is your tractor and will it fit in my yard, if so what impact will it have on our soil? A - Our tractor is a 40 horsepower compact tractor which is around 1450mm wide. Without a load or back weight it weighs around 1100kg and is on industrial tyres, a mix between traditional agricultural tractor tyres and turf tyres. The tractor is around 3600mm long including the front end loader and stands 2300mm tall. The impact of our tractor will largely depend on the type of task performed and the type of surface we work on. If you have any concerns we will be happy to work with you before we start an operation.

  • Q - How big is your equipment? A - Most of our equipment is between 5 and 6 feet in working width. This includes the following equipment but not limited to; Slasher, Disc Harrow, Rotary Hoe, Seeder, Loading bucket, Spreader, Sprayer, Cultivator.

  • Q - I have heard about machine and equipment hygiene, why is this important? A - Machine hygiene may be more important than price and service for one good reason, it prevents the spread of weeds, pest and diseases. We understand that your property is something that you are proud of and therefore regularly and thoroughly clean our machinery and equipment to prevent this..

  • Q - Do you only work on acreage or hobby farms? A - No, while a lot of our work comes from hobby farm contracting we regularly perform a variety of tasks such as slashing, levelling and more on urban properties, commercial properties, school grounds, universities, leisure and recreational venues, orchards, vineyards, larger farms and more.

  • Q - Do you only do firebreaks and slashing? A - No, we can assist with a wide variety of other tasks such as landscaping, spreading loads, filling in work, site levelling, site clearing, gravel road repairs, driveway repairs  large area mowing and more. We also offer pasture and paddock management services such as fertiliser spreading, seeding of pasture grass species, spraying and other pasture care.

  • Q - I am unsure if I need my land cleared or if i require a firebreak, can you assist? A - Yes we can help you make an assessment of what is required to ensure your property is compliant with local laws and regulations. It may be worth checking out your local council webpage but we also offer some general information. Please see our Regulations page.

  • Q - What are the benefits of choosing you over a competitor? A - We love what we do and that makes us do it well. We also heavily rely on word of mouth advertising and repeat business so we value every client. Above all we have set ourselves high standards and therefore trade with honesty and integrity.

  • Q - What payment methods do you accept and can you provide me with an invoice?  A - We accept cash, debit and credit card payments and can provide a valid tax invoice.

  • Q - Are you insured if anything happens? A - Yes absolutely. We carry public liability insurance to the value of $10 million.
